Honest Skin Clinic calls for Industry Regulation
We have been paying close attention to trends in the aesthetics industry and we believe that the number one trend we need to begin is to call for an Industry Regulator for Non Medic Practitioners of Aesthetics including permanent make up.
We believe the following are necessary for the safety, growth and regulation of the industry for the benefit of all Practitioners and Clients alike:
These are things we think would create a higher standard of care within the industry and allow clients to make informed decisions about their treatment and the best practitioner for their needs.
With this in mind, we are seeking to establish the Board of Aesthetic Practitioners of Ireland to take this mandate and make it work towards a better, more sustainable and safer future for Aesthetics in Ireland.

- Public Education
- Annual Requirement for Standard Safety and Complications Management
- Ethical Clinical Practice
- List of Safe Practice Clinics and Practitioners
- List of Banned Clinics and Practitioners
- Group Insurance Scheme
- Standard Release and Liability Forms
- Bi-annual Education/Upskill requirements with a code of points to become/remain eligible for membership
- Mandatory Theory Testing for new members showing knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology
- Access to course work, clinic rotations and shadow training, with specific focus on Physiology and Anatomy of the face and ancillary treatment areas
- Co-operation with medics and pharmacists to help provide aftercare and referral
- Legal advice and guidance relative to the industry and a practitioner's duty of care
- Practical Business guidelines and company law.
